Every one knows about the Tsavo lions and all its archaeological Tsavo lions remains which are now exhibited at the …. Museum in the USA.  On the other hand the as the word safari points out to be a journey in other words Africa and all is safaris would be known as the cradle of all safaris in the world just as the  archaeological safaris which brought light as result of the great discoveries in East Africa  which is also called the cradle of mankind.

Just before independence many African countries were a home to a number of different wild animals. Little was known about its archaeological safaris in Africa. All what was known about the African Safaris was its famous for its big game hunting which was revered by the royal and the rich from Europe Asia and as far as Far East. With different voyages made by the Portuguese and many other explores, Africa the “Dark Continent” as its known to many was just a stop over to get the raw material for the finished products back in Europe which needed for its industrial revolution.

As time went by, many more people who had ventured in the continent not for any archaeological safaris during that time amazingly found it pleasant. Was this the onset of the archaeological safaris in the continent? Could it have paved the way for the archaeological safaris in Africa?  Well Scientist, engineers, merchants, teachers, missionaries were sent to explore the continent and many of those safaris as they might have been ended up into many discoveries and mapping of many of the many geographical features which aided in the abolition of the slave trade and as a mile stone to the establishment of the gaining of independence of many African states.

While there was still a lot of archaeological safaris exploration to be made, many Europeans who had come for an Africa safari settled and established their homes in different parts of the continent. The most famous archaeological safari in Africa and the world at large was spearheaded with the famous archeology Louis and Mary Leaky. A day trip should be made from Nairobi to the Olorgesaille Site, also discovered by the late Dr Louis and Mrs. Leakey, approximately 25 miles from Nairobi. The site is unique for the very large number of hand axes and other tools which have been found.
